- "Hachiko" with Oscar potential?

From the LA Times blog:

But none may be better than the independently made "Hachiko: A Dog's Story," a film that screened at the Crest Westwood on Sunday morning for foreign buyers attending the American Film Market. There wasn't a dry eye in the house for this beautiful and touching American remake of a Japanese film (based on an incredible true story) that stars Richard Gere and Joan Allen.
It is perhaps director Lasse Hallstrom's best film since "My Life As A Dog" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" (and yes, that includes his two best picture nominees,"The Cider House Rules" and "Chocolat"). A smart American distributor should start thinking about the 2009 Oscar race and snatch up this potential contender immediately."

Today we can finally release Lasse's Multimedia Section.
So far it provides a couple of interesting interview clips about "The Cider House Rules", "The Shipping News", "Casanova" and "The Hoax", and a collection of commercials directed by Lasse.

- Exclusive Interview about "Hachiko: A Dog's Story"

As already mentioned in one of our previous updates, Lasse's and Lena's daughter Tora Hallström will make her debut as an actress in Lasse's upcoming movie "Hachiko: A Dog's Story".

In an exclusive interview with LENA OnLINe, her screen partner Kevin DeCoste shares some insights on working with Tora and her father as well as two photos from the set. (Big thanks, Kevin!)
